Everything you need to know about RangeSight and RangeIQ
About RangeSight
RangeSight is a return-safe range planning application powered by RangeIQ™ that helps pilots assess flight feasibility and make informed go/no-go decisions before takeoff. It's designed for individual drone operators, commercial pilots, and drone service providers (DSPs) who need to evaluate operational conditions in advance.
Current Version (Beta): Supports Out-and-Back (Point-to-Point) analysis, which calculates exactly how far you can fly from your launch point and safely return, accounting for wind, weather, battery, payload, and environmental factors.
Coming in Full Version: Waypoint Mission Planning with multi-leg route evaluation, per-waypoint return feasibility checks, and risk-colored flight segments.
Yes. RangeSight is built for real-world field conditions where connectivity can be unreliable or nonexistent. With our offline map packs, you can download high-resolution terrain and satellite imagery for your operating regions before heading to the field. Once downloaded, all planning features work without any internet connection, so you can assess sites, plan routes, and make decisions even in remote areas.
Offline maps are pre-downloaded map tiles that include satellite imagery and terrain data for specific geographic regions. Unlike streaming maps that require constant internet access, offline maps are stored directly on your device. This means you can view detailed imagery, check terrain elevation, and plan missions even when you're miles from cell service. Offline map packs are available for purchase by region, multi-region bundles, or nationwide coverage.
RangeSight currently supports Out-and-Back (Point-to-Point) range analysis, helping you answer the most critical flight question: "Can I fly to that location and return safely?"
- Go/No-Go Decisions: Assess whether current conditions (wind, weather, battery state) support a safe round-trip flight.
- Return Feasibility: Visualize exactly how far you can fly in any direction while maintaining safe battery reserves for the return trip.
- Environmental Compensation: See how wind, temperature, altitude, payload, and battery health affect your actual operational range.
Coming in Full Version: Waypoint Mission Planning for multi-leg routes with per-waypoint return feasibility checks.
RangeSight is currently available for Android devices. You can download it from the Google Play Store. iOS support is planned for a future release. We recommend checking back or subscribing to our updates for announcements about new platform availability.
About RangeIQ
RangeIQ is the licensable platform that powers RangeSight's mission planning intelligence. It provides the same go/no-go assessment, feasibility analysis, and range planning capabilities through APIs and SDKs that enterprise organizations can integrate into their own systems. Think of RangeSight as the consumer-facing product and RangeIQ as the B2B platform that enables partners to embed our planning logic into their fleet management systems, drone software, or enterprise workflows.
RangeIQ is designed for organizations that need to standardize mission planning across their operations:
- Enterprise Drone Fleets: Companies with multiple pilots who need consistent planning processes and centralized oversight.
- Software Integrators: Developers building drone management platforms who want to add intelligent planning without building it from scratch.
- OEM Partners: Drone manufacturers looking to enhance their offerings with embedded mission planning capabilities.
RangeSight is a standalone mobile application for individual users and small teams. RangeIQ is a licensable platform (API/SDK) that provides the same mission planning intelligence but is designed for integration into enterprise systems. RangeSight is the product; RangeIQ is the platform that powers it and can power your systems too.
RangeIQ licensing is available through our partnership program. Visit our Request Access page to tell us about your use case and integration needs. Our team will follow up to discuss technical requirements, pricing, and onboarding. Developers can also start with our free tier to explore the API capabilities.
